This policy explains what personal data Picasso ("we") collects when you use the Picasso apps and their online services (the "Service"), why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have a question, write to contact@getpicasso.com.
What stays on your device
Your documents, screenshots and String Catalogs are saved on your device or in the storage you choose, such as iCloud Drive. Your App Store Connect API key is saved on your device and only sent to Apple. We don't receive either.
What we collect
- Email address, if you sign up with it.
- Identifiers. A random ID created by the app, kept in your iCloud Keychain so it's the same on your devices. It links your purchases, AI tokens and usage, not your name.
- Purchases and tokens. Your App Store purchases and subscription status, your token balance and how many tokens each translation used.
- Text you translate with AI. The screenshot texts you send to AI translation, with the source and target languages.
- Usage and diagnostics. Which features you use, crash reports and performance data, used to improve the app.
- Install attribution. Whether you installed Picasso from an Apple Ads campaign. We don't ask for permission to track you across other apps, and don't do it.
How we use it
- To run the Service: translate your texts, keep your purchases and token balance correct, and show you offers.
- To send emails you need, and emails from Picasso about product updates and news. Every one of those has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the Service secure, fix errors and decide what to improve.
We do not sell your data or show ads.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers we need to run the Service, and only what each one needs:
- Apple processes App Store purchases, and receives your screenshots when you upload them to App Store Connect.
- RevenueCat keeps track of your purchases and subscription.
- OpenAI processes the texts you send to AI translation.
- Hetzner hosts our servers and database in Germany.
- Amazon Web Services (SES) sends our emails.
- TelemetryDeck and Amplitude collect usage data, and Bugsnag collects crash reports.
Some of these providers process data outside the EU, mainly in the United States. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use the Service. When you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to move it elsewhere. Email contact@getpicasso.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The Service is for developers and businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and let you know by email or in the app.
